This is a test

This is a test of the mobile blogging system... This is only a test.
- Megan

Whenever I really SHOULD go to bed early I end up staying up WAY too late. I think I'm secretly afraid I'll oversleep so my subconcious tells me that if I stay awake I'll already be up when the alarm rings. I think the only surefire method for getting me up on time is the Bart Simpson "drink 10 glasses of water before going to bed" method. It works.

My eyes are bleary and weary, but I just don't want to lay down. My room is so cold. I'm ready to travel. I haven't been anywhere in months. I believe my next destination is L.A. I've never been there, and as an actor I feel like I need to face the beast that is Hollywood and spit in its face and make it angry. Don't get me wrong, I really do love Chi-town ...in the summer. I'm really excited about spending this summer in Chicago with the superfriends - the former Midnight Mauraders. (Reference April 29th, 2004 + May 3,2004 entries in Meegland Blog Archives)

Good times.

Who is this mysterious "Meegsfan" with "E&M Homework"?

Well since you asked so nicely with all those exclaimation points and such...

I'm really psyched because I've been doing a lot of acting lately. Tomorrow morning (today actually) I've got a couple lines in a short indie film about a couple of unorthodox super heroes. I think it's my job to get held up by the robber.

Then I've got rehearsal for the play I'm mentally done with.

Then Sunday morning is the second half of the NIH television piece I'm involved with. I believe we are going shopping in Georgetown.

Then more rehearsal.

Then Monday I'll be an extra in a local car commercial.

Tuesday I'm meeting with a student director at JHU to discuss me possibly being the lead in a short film for her senior project. It involves Bollywood dancing!!! I'm SOOO psyched!

So it is possible to be an actor without being beautiful.

I'm so happy that Jay won Project Runway!

Although I feel like I was the only person on earth that watched the show religously every week, I think it was a great show! I'm so sick of reality TV, but this one was so interesting because it was actual professionals in a difficult field trying to realise their dreams. It wasn't people from one world trying to fake it in a different world.

I think Kara Saun is an awesome designer!! I see her as like the Clay Aiken of Project Runway. She is going to come out of this as the super celebrity designer and use her fabulous talents, her L.A. connections, and her newfound publicity to launch an already great career to the next level.

When I saw the first episode of the show I didn't see Jay as winning, but of all the characters he was the one I felt most likely to be friends with. He was always funny and honest and didn't care what anyone thought of him.

I was so sad that Austin didn't make it to the final 3. He is SOOOO talented and creative.

Wendy is a good seamstress, and an excellent craftsperson but I don't see her as a New York Fashion Designer. Actually I think it's great that she lives in Middleburg(where I worked at a summer camp a few years ago with Matt and Bill!), because her style is very Washington D.C. appropriate. She can design my Helen Hayes awards dress anytime! (whenever THAT happens)
Carlyn Davis Casting is looking for Celebrity Impersonators for a spoof of Celebrity Poker. You have to be able to both LOOK and ACT like the person, and it should be someone easily recognizable. (NoJessica Simpson or Britanny Spears because who can really tell themapart?)They found my Mr T impression amusing but I didn't make the cut. This is a SAG job but ANYONE who fits the description can auditionfor it. Its a great opportunity and it sounds like FUN! Good Luck!

We are having a casting session on Monday morning 2/28 for actors who can impersonate celebrities icons (someone instantly recognizable such as Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Sinatra, Tina Turner, etc) and can improvise. Client is not interested in singing. This is for a "Celebrity Poker" parody and is a SAG industrial. If you are SAG must join, you will have to join to do this job.If you feel you can do a good impersonation of someone famous, please call me right away. Thanks.
